Our Grants and Contracts department, a unit of the Office of Research and Project Administration (ORPA), manages the pre-award administration of research grants and contracts funded by federal, state, and private agencies. As a Grants Management Specialist you will:Be a self directed professional responsible for providing customer-focused support to investigatorsServe as the principal administrative resource and contact between investigators, external funding agencies and MSK, and acts as a pre-award information consultant for researchers in the Sloan-Kettering Institute and Memorial HospitalProvide analysis of sponsor guidelines, develop and review budgets for all grant applications, review of agency application forms and administrative documents and timely submission of proposals to sponsor agenciesEnsure institutional compliance with federal, state, agency and other applicable governing regulations, policies and procedures concerning sponsored and non-sponsored research You are:Self-motivated, willing to take action, individual, with demonstrated ability to establish relationships, prioritize and multi-task on parallel projectsCustomer-focused and interested in collaborationAble to adapt in ambiguous situations and produce results Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with institutional goalsA strong communicator and able to easily interact with a diverse group of individualsAble to operate effectively in an environment notable for complex information, even when things are not clear or the way forward is not obvious.Someone confident and able to effectively engage stakeholders in challenging or deadline-oriented situations You have: A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field, ideally in an administration environment performing duties similar to the above. 5 years of directly related experience may be substituted for the degreeExperience showing progressive increases in responsibility, the ability to develop and complete projects with minimal supervision, and will have demonstrated skills in working effectively with faculty, staff and external agencies.Experience reading and interpreting funding opportunity announcements or similar and demonstrated knowledge of pre-award grant submission process is highly preferred.Knowledge of NIH application requirements and policy regulations and a familiarity with web based submission software (eg Cayuse) preferred. #LI-SB1MSK is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer committed to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
