This role plans, directs and coordinates the activities of the EMEA Compensation and Benefits team within the region. As a key subject matter expert and leader of the Compensation and Benefits functions, the role provides consultation and advice to Human Resources business partners, recruiters and the senior business leaders as required.
This position reports dually to the Head of Compensation and the Head of Benefits, both based in New York, and is expected to work closely with other members of the global Compensation and Benefits teams to recommend and implement regional strategies and provide regional input into large scale compensation and benefits projects.
Develop and administer regional compensation and benefits programs to support the organization's philosophy, business objectives and strategic goals
Provide and be responsible for a high standard of advice, guidance and analytic support to HR management team and/or senior business managers with regard to compensation and benefits program
Responsible for managing and developing team members, setting direction and priorities, overseeing projects and managing budgets. Recommend and implement changes to current practice based on latest market trends and best practices to ensure the organization stays competitive in the market and industry
Develop an advisory relationship with management to provide a clear understanding of the human resource impact on operational and financial decisions made by the business
Partner with HR business partners and recruiters regionally on compensation and benefits matters to support local HR Team and managers while ensuring timely and effective communication
Responsible for ensuring that company compensation and benefit programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations
Manage local market vendor relationships while exploring new potential sources of market data and keeping abreast of market trends
Negotiate coverage services and costs with carriers to minimize expense associated with the overall benefits package within the region
Represent the organization in dealings with external groups relevant to areas of accountability
Responsible for implementing regulatory and compliance matters as they relate to compensation and benefits functions
Provide support to corporate compensation and benefits teams including annual salary planning and annual bonus processes
Maintain a sound understanding of the organization's key business drivers and key stakeholders.
Interact with Finance, Legal, Internal Audit and Tax departments as necessary
The Department / Team: The Compensation and Benefits team is responsible for handling issues related to compensation, salary planning & benchmarking, and benefits. The team partners with Human Resources Business Partners and the Talent Acquisition team to extend our presence and support in the region. The team provides advisory and specialist knowledge to our clients in the region and serves as an internal consultant for the Business Partners and Talent Acquisition teams based on local market trends, best practice and legislation.
Degree or tertiary qualifications in a related discipline
Minimum 10 years work experience in compensation and benefits area
Strong knowledge of local compensation and benefit market practices and evolving regulatory requirements
Previous experience managing and delivering results through others
Previous experience leading and implementing projects across a wide region / multiples sites
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to comfortably interact with people at all levels of the organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills, together with strong presentation skills
High degree of integrity and confidentiality
Good organization skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong critical thinking, communication and analytical skills
Expert with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience within the global financial services sector a plus
English fluency, with ideally French and German proficiency
