Job Description: Junior Developer
The Central Functions & Research team collectively combines a broad ranges of complimentary technical skills such as: statistical and quantitative modelling, econometrics and financial risk analysis, data visualisation and UI design, programming (R, VBA, Python), data warehousing and extraction, report generation, validation and testing, and workflow and process automation.
We are looking for a highly proficient junior developer to join our team and be responsible for:
Automating many of our workflows and processes to improve efficiency.
Providing timely support for our existing tools and models.
Building and enhancing a wide range of analytical tools related to financial risk.
Being an architect and custodian of our internal data and database interactions.
The job requires a broad mix of programming and database skills and will be predominately based around R and Excel/VBA, but will regularly involve working with SQL/NoSQL databases and various internal and external APIs and web services.
You will need to contribute to many parts of the product life-cycle, from idea generation and prototyping to writing production code and product support, and at any given point in time you will be managing multiple projects and a pipeline of deliverables.

Prerequisite : A 2.1 degree (or equivalent) in a technical or quantitative subject such as data science, engineering, IT etc.
Beneficial : Studies related to financial risk, quantitative finance or econometrics.
Knowledge & Skills :
Prerequisite : G ood knowledge of R and Excel/VBA programming languages. Good knowledge of database design, implementation and extraction techniques.
Prerequisite : The ability to work autonomously, managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Prerequisite : Strong communication skills. Fluent in English.
Beneficial : Any of the following: Data visualization and UI design, APIs and web-services, quantitative and statistical modelling.
Prerequisite: Previous experience building tools/models for a production environment and working with data and databases.
Prerequisite : A proven track record of making processes more effective and efficient.
Beneficial : Previous experience working within the Financial Services sector.
