Responsible for driving work which involves operating a small truck or automobile for the transportation of mail between campuses. Work is reviewed by general observation and overall results. Functional contacts include co-workers, receiving agents, university employees and members of the general public.
Transport mail and packages from campus to campus and/or post office as needed.
Sort mail and packages, record quantity to be delivered. Appropriately wrap, weigh and load mail into vehicle.
Responsible for proper operation of vehicle, assures vehicle is in operating order, and makes periodic safety checks of equipment on Postal Services vehicles. Fuel all Postal Services vehicles and maintain a service log for each vehicle.
Deliver USPS Mail when required. (Learn all mail delivery routes)
Work at the USPS Contract Postal Unit counter when required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School or equivalent.
Prefer previous record of safe and dependable driving.
Skilled in the operation of motor vehicles. Knowledge of state and local laws governing the operation of motor vehicles. Possession of a valid operator's license.
Good physical coordination and strength sufficient to lift heavy mail sacks and packages. Responsible and mature individual.
$13.31 per hour
