Organize daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules with guidance from supervisor and input from production scheduler.
Balance workload and assign tasks to work cell members on a day-to day basis to meet prescribed work cell metrics.
Assist with, and perform, cell tasks in providing coverage during employee absences and recover output shortfalls.
Schedule and provide on-the-job training for work cell members.
Initiate, lead, and participate in continuous process improvements in safety, quality, lead time, and productivity within work group.
Facilitate order flow by problem solving material flow, tooling, and equipment issues in conjunction with Operations support resources.
Monitor and facilitate raw material flow and supply to minimize work flow and output disruptions.
Expedite materials and parts through the Planner for the Department.
Operate material handling equipment as required per work cell requirements.
Participates in motivating employees toward achieving goals in safety, quality and customer service.
Provides data for measure of work cell and cell members in attaining cell goals.
Provides input to production supervisor on employee performance.
Assists in creating environment that supports change and process improvements.
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
Ability to facilitate cell meetings.
Develops effective working relationships with cell members and across functions and businesses.
Interacts effectively on a daily basis with the support resources assigned to the work cell.
Communicates to management, support personnel and cell members any information and updates associated with manufacturing orders in work cell.
Represents work cell in meetings with various support groups.
Effectively communicates to all shifts the daily goals of the work cell. (This may require periodic flexing of work hours).
Works with cell members to build the team atmosphere necessary to support work cells.
Supports the team for implementing projects within the work cell or department.
Understands business goals and utilizes this information to develop and initiate improvements and changes.
Accountable for team performance and achievement of goals and objectives.
Understands documentation and processes associated with the work cell.
Monitors performance of work cell and cell members towards achieving cell metrics.
Responds urgently to customer needs and process flow variability.
Conducts tasks in accordance with all applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations. Familiar with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct that are associated with job functions.
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
Trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
