The organization's riskmanagement framework ensures that all material risks in each business line aredefined, understood, and effectively managed by well-designed policies andcontrols, and that an organizational structure is in place to provide oversightin managing such risks and other strategic concerns.
This position responsible forexecuting and maintaining an effective risk management program in theInvestment Management businesses in Greater China, encompassing all productsand services offered by these entities. Based in Hong Kong, the incumbent will serve as the risk & compliancespecialist, central contact and "risk spokesperson" for all operational riskmatters within Greater China. This roleis also supports the Greater China Compliance team on monitoring andsurveillance activities.
Work with Head ofRisk and Compliance IM APAC risk management to ensure a consistent riskmanagement framework is rolled out across IM APAC, including preparing Risk andCompliance reports for regional and global purposes.
Serve as the keypoint of contact in Greater China on all operational risk issues, providingregular updates on operational risk issues, including prevention,identification, mitigation and resolution. Identify adverse trends and implement corrective action, as necessary.
Review newbusiness initiatives in Greater China and ensure that risks are appropriatelyidentified and documented prior to submission to Business Approval Committee
Maintain (andenhance as required), including training, testing and challenging the business, to ensure an effective risk management regime is in place for the identification, monitoring,mitigation and reporting of risk management issues. As well as developing an understanding of therelated compliance and corporate governance issues. Oversee the Risk ManagementPlatform including the risk control self-assessments, key risk indicators,operational risk events and risk plan.
Provide supportto the Greater China Compliance team, including performing compliancemonitoring reviews and surveillance.
Provideappropriate training on risk management to staff
Bachelor orMaster's Degree or Professional Qualification
Minimum 5 yearsof working experience in risk management, compliance or similar control functionswithin financial services, ideally asset management.
Outstandinginterpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Ability to gainconfidence of senior management and challenge the status quo, as appropriate
Superior problemsolving and analytical skills, ability to work independently
Conceptual andstrategic/forward thinker. Ability to foresee changes in the business(both internal and exogenous) and associate those changes to future businessimpact and risks
Knowledge ofcompliance, economic issues and regulatory environment will be an advantage.
