Baldwin Transfer Company Inc, headquartered in Mobile AL and serving the southeast for over 50yrs has a Directors Level opportunity for you in Safety, Compliance, Driver Recruiting & Driver Retention. You will be a key player in creating, supporting, and implementing our commitment to growth while maintaining a safe and DOT compliant company structure under the direction of the Vice President of Operations.
Baldwin Transfer Company is an asset based carrier providing truckload van, intermodal & dedicated contract services throughout the southeast. We currently employee approximately 100 drivers.
Responsibilities include management & direct involvement of the following:
Programs, policies, procedures, and training to meet or exceed government regulations, industry standards, client requirements, and insurance companies’ requirements to enhance safety performance
Compliance with FMCSA regulations and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
Pending and upcoming changes to federal and state DOT regulations to ensure compliance
Monitor, manage and communicate Compliance, Safety & Accountability (CSA) compliance, ensure scores remain acceptable in all BASIC categories
New driver and ongoing driver safety training including DOT, Hours of Services (HOS) and basic safety curriculum
Interface with clients concerning safety matters
Conduct driver safety meetings
Driver recruiting, sourcing and qualifying activities plus candidate management.
Driver recruiting & marketing strategic plans including tracking measurable results.
Reporting of marketing & recruiting statistics, consulting with other company leaders to strategize for continuous improvement
Background checks to verify the candidate's past employment and driving record.
Coordinate the hiring process, including transportation, lodging, DOT physical and drug testing.
Execute onboarding & orientation process for new hires.
Assist in developing the company recruiting & marketing budget
Position requires 3 + years of safety and compliance experience
Advanced knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT Hours of Service
Knowledge of local/state/federal transportation regulations
Leadership ability to supervise, train, evaluate and communicate with drivers and company staff
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other company leaders
Proficient computer skills
