This position will work in partnership with the Purchasing Services team to meet the daily needs of the University by promoting the Universityâ™s values related to procurement. This position will be responsible for processing daily purchase requisitions, while assisting with identifying those areas of spend that would benefit from strategic sourcing.This position will have a primary focus on processing professional services agreements and will also be responsible for processing requisitions for categories that are not specifically assigned to other positions.
The Sr. Purchasing Specialist will work to enforce compliance based on university policies and regulatory guidelines and serve as the subject matter expert for the Uniform Guidance procurement process that governs the spending through sponsored projects funding. .
Ensures departmental procurement needs are fulfilled within a timely manner and in compliance with University policies and best practices in the procurement industry.
Bachelor' s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
3 or more years of related experience
Proficiency with e-procurement systems required with Workday Financials experience preferred
Experience with contract management, signature authority process management required
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
Experience with regulatory compliance highly desirable
Previous experience working with sponsored projects preferred
Experience with procurement in a higher education setting preferred
Experience with public bidding preferred
