The Director of Institutional Research and Assessment leads a team of data analysts responsive to the institutional data reporting needs from various constituent groups including but not limited to internal, state, federal, system and various accrediting agencies. The Director collaborates with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and other units to determine progress on institutional and program goals, including those related to the assessment of student learning. The Director promotes evidence-based decision-making to improve institutional effectiveness and inclusion. The Director is a participating member of the President's Advisory Council and interacts regularly across the institution to understand research needs and to determine how IR can assist in improving decision making through the use of data. In addition to fulfilling these leadership responsibilities, the Director leads and supervises the data analyst team on day-to-day tasks of data collection, analysis and report preparation. This position also ensures the values and integrity of equity and inclusion are incorporated in research and leadership.
Specific duties include:
Lead, supervise, and direct department personnel
Lead and oversee all data governance, compliance, assessment and reporting efforts.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to increase the use of data to transform academic division and institutional effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range: $22.10 - $32.10/hourly; $46,144 - $67,024/annually NOTE: Salary range for this position is based on the MMA (Middle Management Association) collective bargaining agreement. Salary determinations are based on education and experience.

Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution
Three (3) years of experience in institutional research and/or assessing academic outcomes
Experience leading teams for research and/or assessment
Proficiency in utilizing computer applications, including statistical analysis, spreadsheets, word-processing, statistical software, and database software
Experience supporting accreditation processes within higher education institutions
Experience participating in continuous improvement and/or strategic planning efforts in educational institutions or other organizations
Experience in supporting institutional assessment, planning, and research that contributes to data-driven decision-making
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with senior leaders, colleagues and the public
Ability to provide leadership among diverse constituents
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and maintain confidentiality
Demonstrated experience in project management
Master's degree in Information Technology, computer science, educational technology or related field.
Teaching or faculty experience in a higher education setting.
Experience implementing professional learning communities to promote educational technology
