Position Summary Position is available beginning the 2018-19 fiscal year as a nine-month contract. Faculty teach and work a set schedule over a nine-month academic year, August – May, that could include day, evening, and weekend duties; this is a flex position based upon programmatic needs and the role of the director of the program.
Instructional Faculty – Provide instructional delivery for Medical Imaging courses that include; Patient Care (patient interactions and management), Safety (radiation physics, radiobiology, and radiation protection), Image Production (image acquisition and technical evaluation, equipment operation and quality assurance) and Procedures (skull, spine, pelvis, thorax, abdomen and extremities). • Guide and conduct experiments in an energized laboratory related to the subject areas above. • Critique and evaluate student radiographic images at program clinical education centers. • Interact, develop and employ technique charts and procedural protocol with staff radiographers and clinical instructors at program clinical education centers. • Participate in curricular development which includes syllabi, course objective, and student learning outcome analysis and reporting. • Work with clinical education documents, advisory meeting minutes and student documentation as required. • Advise, counsel and tutor radiography students in the classroom, lab and clinical sites. • Demonstrate strategies and techniques in instructional methodology. • Accountable for the preparation of JRCERT accreditation documents and program review; knowledge of national accreditation, compliance and regulatory compliance, and the development of a self-study and accreditation reporting • Participate as a member of the Radiologic Technology Program Advisory Committee. • Complete annual and routine evaluations of instructional faculty in the program • Reports directly to the Dean of Critical Care

General Duties: • Instruct students and work with them on strategies to help them achieve academic success • Use current, effective and innovative classroom management techniques to ensure student success • Monitor and continuously improve instruction to ensure Student Learning Outcomes are met at a classroom, discipline/program, and College level • Evaluate student performance in the didactic and clinical arena using appropriate assessment instruments • Evaluate and revise course outlines, descriptions and outcomes based on changing ARRT content specifications • Provide academic advising to interested individuals using the program requirements on the Course Program Web Page • Maintain certification with the ARRT and licensure with the MRTBE as well as staying current in the field of Radiologic Technology • Serve actively as a member of the program and professionally interact with multidiscipline college areas • Participate in fostering partnerships that strengthen educational opportunities in response to community needs • Represent the department and/or campus on college-wide committees • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students and utilize a collegial style in all forms of communication • Create and maintain an inclusive environment which embraces different identities, skills and ideologies • Promote civility in the workplace • Manage and direct the program in accordance with JRCERT and state requirements • Manage and direct annual employee evaluations in the program • Manage and direct the student complaint/appeals process in the program • Ensure accurate reporting completion for the program with regard to completion, licensure attainment, attrition/ persistence, and employability • Be the point of contact for the community to establish new programs and curriculum to meet the needs of the workforce • Development of new curriculum for the changing needs of the workforce • Assures effective program operations • Has direct oversight of ongoing program assessment • Participates in budgetary planning and implementation • Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development • Assumes the leadership role in the continued development of the program • Demonstrates proficiency in curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising
The successful candidate will have knowledge, skills and abilities related to: • Student learning styles: ability to adapt and modify instruction based on the instructional needs of students • Assure effective program operation and develop/ maintain a culture of excellence • Complete periodic review and revision of course materials to ensure workforce needs are met • Maintain appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional development • Assessment instruments and their interpretation: knowledge of appropriate and effective use of formative and summative assessment information to improve instruction • Knowledge of data analytics and their application to continuous quality improvement • Evaluation of students' educational progress: ability to maintain high instruction and learning standards and assess students' academic progress in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes • Teaching in traditional and non-traditional formats: knowledge of curriculum development, course design, and delivery • Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives, instructs and evaluates students, and reports progress from the assessment process • Techniques for academic advising: knowledge of the resources available to students to assist them with academic and personal challenges, and ability to help students access those resources • Competencies in multiculturalism, diversity and inclusivity: knowledge of diverse community college student populations and ability to address diversity in effective instructional practice and student learning • Mission: appreciation for the Community College mission

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications for faculty positions are governed by our Faculty Certification Standards. This position is in an Occupational/Workforce discipline and requires meeting one of the following Academic or Work Experience options to obtain Pima Community College teaching certification:
Program Requirements: The applicant must have: • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification and MRTBE (Arizona Medical Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners) certification AND the following: • Three years of clinical experience in the professional discipline • Two years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT- accredited program • Master's degree in the field of study OR • Master's degree in any discipline and 18 graduate semester hours in the field of study Fields of study (disciplines/subfields) are: health sciences; physical care services; other closely related field.
