UMKC's Honors College is seeking qualified applicants for an Executive Assistant. This positon will provide assistance to the dean, faculty, and staff of the Honors College. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Facilitate and coordinate activities of the dean of the Honors College with all UMKC units, programs, deans, faculty, and external constituencies.
Assist the dean, director, faculty and staff in the preparation of all correspondence, forms, reports, speech writing, editing of publications, research, presentations, website development and maintenance, media relations, special event planning, and travel arrangements.
Provide accurate and timely communication to students, parents, faculty and alumni regarding Honors College programming.
Supervise a full-time office support specialist and 14 student workers.
Maintain student databases for the Honors College.
Manage supply ordering, purchasing and payroll.
Provide administrative support for work of the dean, staff and faculty in the Honors College.
Work with Admissions, the Registrar, International Academic Programs, Residential Life, the Office of Student Involvement and other UMKC units to meet the needs of students in the Honors College.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
Minimum of two years related experience is necessary.
Five years' experience in academic program administration in a position of comparable responsibility.
Proficiency and experience in event management, including working with vendors, managing invitation lists and preparing talking points for speakers.
Intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft and social media.
Ability to work well with a range of persons, to problem-solve, to maintain complete confidentiality, and to apply sensitivity and sound judgment to all situations.
Excellent interpersonal, public, written and oral communication skills demonstrated in a variety of contexts.
Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly challenging academic environment.
Full Time/Part Time
Full-Time, benefits-eligible; Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with hours/days subject to change based on the needs of the Honors College).
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
