Gannon University’s Morosky School of Health Professions and Sciences invites applications for two, nine-month faculty positions at the rank of Instructor to begin August 2018. Successful candidates will join the Villa Maria School of Nursing (VMSON), the first collegiate nursing program in northwest Pennsylvania. The VMSON offers a community-based curriculum that produces graduates who consistently achieve a high level of success on the NCLEX-RN and assume leadership positions upon employment.
These positions will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, as needed. Classroom and clinical instruction are required. The successful candidate must be a registered nurse with a master’s degree in nursing; an earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field (Ph.D., DNSc) is preferred. A minimum of two years of clinical and teaching experience in a program of higher education is preferred, particularly within the areas of psychiatric, medical-surgical nursing, and/or community health. The candidates must be eligible for Pennsylvania licensure and possess a valid driver’s license. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues, advise students, pursue scholarly activities, and participate in service activities to support the University, community, and profession. Ideally, candidates will have experience using course management systems for purposes of instruction and advising; experience using patient simulation for teaching purposes is also preferred. Candidates must be able to support and promote the University’s inclusive Mission, its Catholic identity, and its liberal arts and professional education traditions.
