Advertised Summary Job Description: Reporting to the Director for Corporate and Foundation Relations, the Manager, Corporate and Foundation Relations is an early-career professional, responsible for working closely with Law School Faculty and Staff to pro-actively research and identify new sources of revenue among foundations, corporations, law firms, and government agencies; managing, organizing, and collecting data on both new and existing funding sources; assist the Director in management of grants after award; tracking submission deadlines and reporting requirements; assisting in the management of Columbia Law School compliance with university sponsored projects guidelines; and assisting the Director with management of long-term strategies and goals.
Responsibilities: 1)Works with the Director to target and approach foundations, corporations and government agencies for support of Law School programs. 2)Communicates with faculty members and staff regarding pre-award grant proposal processes and relevant University guidelines. 3)Manage and track pre-award processes for Department of Corporate and Foundation Relations including the research and identification of new funding sources pro-actively and in response to faculty and staff requests. 4)Create and maintain data analysis and tracking system for efficient management of new fundraising leads, existing funding relationships, and past funding sources. 5)Works with the Director, faculty, and staff to prepare grant reports, gathering materials, creating and collating research, and evaluating and organizing materials for proposal submission. 6)Assist the Director with the management of long-range strategies and goals of the Corporate and Foundation Relations Department. 7)Assist the Director in conducting informational trainings for faculty and staff on grant processes as needed. 8)Participate in other projects as needed; provide support for Department-wide fundraising campaign and events as needed.
General Minimum Qualifications: BA and/or its equivalent required, plus relevant experience in a professional work environment, preferably in a non-profit or academic setting. Very strong research and writing skills required. Strong interest in fundraising and some basic research and fundraising experience preferred. Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills required. Ability to work in a collaborative environment managing multiple, deadline-driven responsibilities.
