The Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Grand View Health provides leadership at the executive level for system-wide nursing services and contributes to the development and execution of the system’s strategic plan. The successful candidate will have the ability to build and lead a strong nursing team committed to the highest standards of nursing practice and quality of patient care. The CNO works under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer.
Leadership responsibility for system-wide nursing services ensuring high-quality care and an excellent patient experience through accountable leadership. Collaborates and participates with the governing body, executive team, medical staff, and clinical management team to identify, develop and execute the delivery of patient care. Communicates and executes a strategy supporting standards of patient care and services that meet patient care delivery needs of the hospital, ambulatory care, and post-acute care service lines. A strong focus on Quality, Safety, and the Patient Experience. Financial experience that includes operational and capital budget preparation; data utilization to assist with cost/benefit analyses and allocation of resources and reviewing monthly financial reports to identify trends and performance metrics.
Professional Practice Ensure that patient care delivery models and clinical and staffing standards for nursing are consistent with evidence–based nursing practice and consistent with professional standards, accreditation standards, state and federal regulations, and other regulatory bodies. Align all aspects of nursing with the Grand View Health Mission, Vision and Values statements. Participate in planning and evaluation of clinical programs and services. Direct the development of strategies to promote recruitment, retention, and recognition of excellence in nursing. Recommend and advocate the adoption and use of technology to advance continuity of care. Promote clinical integration across the system to advance patient safety and outcomes while monitoring quality and maintaining continuous survey readiness.
Requirements Bachelor’s and Master’s degree required, one of which must be in Nursing. Extensive clinical nursing and management experience with a minimum of seven (7) years in senior nursing leadership roles. Must have a current PA nursing license. Prior CNO experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the system’s management team, medical staff, and employees. An advanced level of knowledge acquired through completion of formal and continuing education in Nursing, health policy, regulatory compliance, process redesign and management are essential. Knowledge of nursing staffing methods, retention, recruitment, and finance. Proven strategic-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
