Under general supervision, this position will ensure compliance and data integrity for systems used within OISS as well as provide advising and support to both the F and J international student and scholar communities at LMU and Loyola Law School.
Typically a Bachelor's degree in International Education, Intercultural Communication, Computer Information System or related field or equivalent experience. Master's Degree preferred. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
Minimum 2 years' experience advising international students & scholars in F-1 and J-1 status on immigration, visa status and cross-cultural issues. Demonstrated ability to learn, understand, and interpret complex federal immigration regulations. U.S. citizen or permanent resident status (required by the U.S. government.)
Experience within a higher educational setting or experience with F-1 and J-1 Visa status regulations as established by DHS/SEVIS.
Experience using SEVIS, a student ERP such as Ellucian BANNER and a secondary batch software, preferably Sunapsis.
Strong cross-cultural oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity addressing issues of concern facing students from diverse backgrounds in higher education and campus support services.
Ability to learn and work independently in a collaborative environment.
