CABM, the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, invites applications for postdoctoral positions associated with the center.
NIH funded Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in the lab of Dr. Isaac Edery to study molecular mechanisms governing sleep, circadian rhythms and metabolic pathways. We use the Drosophila model system and take multifaceted strategies including biochemical, tissue culture, molecular biology, genetic, behavioral and evolutionary/genomic approaches. Multiple projects are available. Experience with Drosophila is highly preferred; but will also consider candidates having high expertise in RNA, protein, tissue culture, molecular biology and imaging. The lab is undergoing a rebuilding phase as we switch to new areas to develop. Thus, ideal candidates are highly motivated, independent and enthusiastic scientist(s) who really enjoy a challenge. The lab has a good history of postdoctoral fellows that went on to academic positions. The work is supported by a recent R01 and R21 awarded to the PI.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a related scientific discipline. Experience with Drosophila is highly preferred; but will also consider candidates having high expertise in RNA, protein, tissue culture, molecular biology and imaging.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
