The Farm Foreman I, under general supervision, supervises and participates in farm work including the care of animals and protection of crops; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate.
Responsibilities: 25% Maintain affluent and solid waste at compliant levels.
25% Insure compliance with government agencies, specifically TCEQ, with regards to the environment.
20% Supervise student labor in daily activities associated with waste management and facility and equipment maintenance.
15% Maintain daily environmental compliance records
5% Procure routine supplies necessary for facility and equipment maintenance.
5% Mow, shred, edge and spray weeds at the Southwest Regional Dairy Center.
5% Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of related experience in farming and/or agriculture.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of livestock or field work.Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to evaluate the health of animals.
Required Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses: Must have valid drivers license.
Bachelors of Science Degree in related field preferred.
