The Assistant Director of Major Gifts is part of a professional fundraising team that generates philanthropic support for Salve Regina University. The University is seeking a high-energy fundraising professional to work with the University's most distinguished donors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from prospects to support fundraising priorities of the University.
Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 alumni, parent and corporate prospects and maintain a steady schedule of personal visits monthly.
Work closely with the director of major gifts & campaign associate director to establish fundraising goals and strategies for alumni and parent prospects and strengthen the major gift pipeline.
Travel regularly to visit with alumni, parent and corporate prospects.
Develop relationships and build fundraising efforts with parents from orientation through post-graduation. Build parent involvement in University events.
Work with Annual Fund staff, to develop athletic and club sports fundraising through personal solicitations, enhance reunion giving program, and strengthen faculty/staff giving.
Solicit and secure sponsors for all corporate fundraising events.
Represent the Office of Advancement at regional business association gatherings and events.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Major Gifts & Campaign Associate Director.
LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT
Valid driver's license required.
A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 to 5 years of full-time fundraising, or related experience required. Previous personal solicitation experience a plus.
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends required.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software applications.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
Basic understanding of higher-educational development preferred.
