MANAGER RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING , Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL)-Global-Research, Education, and Training (RET) Team , to take a lead role in managing J-PAL's training portfolio and advising its worldwide offices on trainings. This includes managing the collection and analysis of data on the reach and impact of trainings and their contribution to J-PAL's mission and working with senior management on strategic planning for the training group. Responsibilities include managing J-PAL Global's efforts to train researchers, research staff, and policymakers in staff trainings, executive education programs, and online courses; overseeing the work of a team of training staff members who build out data analysis tools and new reference and teaching materials and act as teaching assistants/support for online courses; leading the design, organization, and implementation of in-person courses; representing J-PAL in interactions with high-level government/foundation/NGO policymakers and affiliate researchers; and working closely with regional offices and partner organizations.
REQUIRED : master's in economics, political science, education, public policy, international development, or related field and at least four years' relevant experience or a Ph.D. and one year of experience (may include graduate school teaching experience); training in and strong technical understanding of randomized impact evaluations; comfort making presentations and preparing tailored teaching materials; experience in academic/non-academic teaching environments and/or conducting field research in developing countries; strong interest in poverty alleviation policy and research; knowledge of data management, data analysis, and econometrics; PowerPoint and Excel proficiency; and good command of Stata or knowledge of R, Python, or other analytics programs and ability/willingness to quickly learn Stata.
