Program Coordinator, Assessment and Special Projects

Reporting to the Senior Program Coordinator for Assessment and Special Projects (ASP), the Program Coordinator will partner with the Senior Program Coordinator, Director, Dean of Students and array of senior administrators on project and survey coordination related to student affairs and residential life.The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating projects and supporting the assessment efforts for the division of the Dean of Students.This role does not traditionally interface directly with students but is an important role that supports the enhancement of student life.

Candidates must be able to articulate and demonstrate excellence and continued growth in knowledge, awareness, skills, and experience engaging with these priorities in a higher education environment.
Key Functions and Expected Performances:
Move projects from inception to completion in a timely manner.
Create project timelines, track progress towards objectives, and keep stakeholders informed of progress towards goals via written or verbal updates.
Examples of projects could include:
Coordinate the review and revision of the Student Handbook,
Coordinate the implementation of a staff development program,
Develop a process for student organizations to view financial statements electronically, and/or
Research best practices for student engagement and provide a proposal on which practices Vanderbilt should adopt.
Work with ASP team to coordinate the implementation of large-scale surveys distributed to the entire student body (examples include: surveys that measure campus climate, alcohol and other drug, religiosity) by:
Developing timelines for survey review and distribution
Working with campus stakeholders (i.e., Office of General Counsel, Registrar, Institutional Research Group, Finance, Institutional Review Board, etc.) to complete various aspects of survey implementation
Working with ASP team to assign team members to write survey questions, distribute survey, and analyze data.
With ASP team, contribute to the review departmental assessment reports, provide departments with feedback, and support departments in executing assessment goals
Create and analyze involvement and event reports for Dean of Students departments, external constituent groups, and senior campus administrators
Provide data and analyses essential for administrative decision making
Contribute to the annual report writing process
Generate succinct reports as needed to inform key stakeholders on Dean of Students accomplishments and/or recommendations.
This position does not have supervisory responsibility; the position reports to the Senior Program Coordinator for Assessment and Special Projects (ASP).
· A Bachelor's degree and one year of related work experience are required. A Master's Degree is preferred.
Detail-oriented and highly organized;
Experience coordinating projects, events, and/or activities in an organized fashion;
Ability to work independently, especially to plan, organize, and set priorities;
Outstanding interpersonal skills to build relationships with other constituents and provide ongoing training and support to these constituent groups;
Excellent decision making and time management skills;
Excellent writing skills including documentation of processes and analytical reports;
Aptitude to prioritize work, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a team-centered, time–constrained environment
Experience managing, working with, and/or learning new technologies (examples include but are not limited to Campus Labs, OrgSync, Asana, etc.);
Strong interest in higher education administration and governance
Proficiency with spreadsheets, relational databases, and statistical software.
