Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Iowa State University is seeking qualified candidates for a part to full-time, 9-month lecturer position. Lecturers serve the department's educational mission through instruction, laboratory development and curriculum innovation and are term members of the faculty. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate students in MSE core, specialization (metals, polymers or ceramics), and/or service courses. Duties may also include supervising teaching assistants. The successful candidate is also expected to fulfill committee assignments supporting the mission of the department, college and university.
Required Education and Experience:
PhD (or equivalent) in Materials Science and Engineering or closely related field from an accredited program and a minimum of six years (6) of relevant experience as an engineering professional in government, industry or academia.
All candidates must have demonstrated potential to excel in teaching.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience teaching in higher education.
