Information Technology – Media Services is seeking an individual to lead Educational Technology in delivering live two-way distance classes and producing other videography and media services.
Successful candidates will have proven records of success in project management, staff development, distance learning and operational management of technically complex services.
This management position will join the leadership team of Information Technology and work in close collaboration with Instructional Design and Development, academic departments, enrollment management and other campus partners involved in advancing the academic mission of the university.
The Technology Resource Manager position is responsible for managing and supervising the Educational Technology (Ed Tech) unit.
Duties include: Leadership for Ed Tech operations, projects and services; financial and personnel management; relationship management with collaborators and customers outside of Ed Tech; technology advancement and organizational improvement; and strategic and tactical planning.
Additionally, the position works in collaboration with Instructional Design and Development and with academic departments and other customers to review, improve, and expand Ed Tech services in support of the missions of Information Technology and the campus.
This position oversees all complex media production events and 30 staff scheduled across two work shifts covering Ed Tech operations from 7:00 am-10:00 pm Mondays-Thursdays and 7:00 am-5:00 pm Fridays. The manager is responsible for Ed Tech customer service and will be responsive during business hours and after hours.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcasting, video production, management, or related field.
Proven success in leadership development and advancement of direct reports as a result of empowerment and delegation.
Advanced education or training in a communication or information technology field many be substituted for experience.
Five years of managerial experience and accomplishments that have improved the bottom line of the organization.
Training in studio production, management and operations.
Certificate in leadership training and development.
PMP training, designation or certificate.
Experience with operation of complex electronic and computing equipment, media production, videography or photography, is desired.
Experience in technology troubleshooting/support, website design/management, video editing, technical writing, and/or digital graphic design.
