University Health Services is an ambulatory care clinic staffed by health care providers who collaborate with physicians from various disciplines. The department and its staff are committed to providing integrated and culturally sensitive medical, mental health, health promotion and public health services for the University's diverse student body.
Deliver primary care to UMSL students emphasizing the promotion of health and the prevention of disease. Inherent in this role is independence and autonomy of practice within the framework of established guidelines.
Conduct focused health history and performs physical examination as indicated by patient's reason for visit.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
Identify and manage common-health problems, both acute and chronic in accordance with approved guidelines.
Prescribe a variety of modalities to treat illness and meet wellness needs including, but not limited to medications, nutrition, exercise, and traditional nursing treatment.
Consult with collaborative physicians in planning for client care and makes referrals to other disciplines as indicated.
Evaluate and document patients' responses to the plan of care in the electronic health record.
Participate in relevant Student Affairs initiatives involving student wellbeing and wellness that promote student success.
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area. Licensure as APRN or PA in Missouri and BCLS certification require.
Comfort using an EMR system
Must be able to work simultaneously on multiple projects with constantly shifting priorities, and the ability to multi-task in a constantly changing environment
