Within Retail Banking and Wealth Management, Broking Services provides full investment services in stocks, bonds, currencies, precious metals, commodities and derivatives to retail, corporate customers and financial intermediaries. As a leading full service broker dealer in Hong Kong, our investment services include advisory, execution, risk and portfolio management, custodianship, and margin financing.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Risk and Control Management Manager.
Execution of Business Risk and Control Management Operations activities in HSBC Broking Services and its subsidiaries
Responsible for supporting Senior Business Risk and Control Management Manager in implementing within HSBC Broking Services, best practice processes to manage all aspects of Operational Risk and Internal Control in line with the Group's Operational Risk and Management Framework
Provide guidance to business on changes in HCBS' policies and procedures so as to ensure that HSBC Broking Services' operational risk is managed in a commercially sensitive and practical manner
Improve the control environment by establishing and implementing control improvement and standardization programs
Responsible for ensuring the consistent and effective implementation and performance of operational risk management in the first line of defence
Assess and report on the adequacy of the control environment by testing that controls designed to mitigate risk are appropriate and functioning effectively
Coordinate Risk Control Assessment plans and internal control monitoring plans and ensure alignment with other Global Businesses
Provide effective governance, challenge and reporting of key risks and controls
Ensure that Operational Risks are managed effectively by adhering to Group Risk guidance
Degree holder on undergraduate or post graduate level in Accountancy, Finance or related field
Good understanding and knowledge of operational risk and internal control principles and ability to assess risk trends
Preferably with solid operational risk management experience in Broking or Securities business environment
Attention to detail combined with strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
Excellent project management and analytical skills
Strong language, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Persuasive and excellent stakeholder management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint
