The vision and approach of the Discovery Theme Initiative for Food and AgriCultural Transformation (InFACT) is to create new physical, social and cultural models of food systems that promote human health while balancing technology, ecological capacities and economics, along with social justice and equity. This requires collaboration and balance across the sciences, engineering, humanities, design and the arts, as well as a willingness to engage many partners, both internal and external to the university, seeking holistic approaches that improve agroecosystem health.
InFACT seeks a talented, collaborative, team-oriented and engaging individual who can provide creative and operational support to meet innovative programming objectives. Drawing on Ohio State University's administrative policies and procedures to support the initiative's mission, goals and priorities, the coordinator will be expected to both create and adapt processes and tools needed to provide logistical support for a very diverse array of programs impacting audiences as varied as farmers, food-related businesses, students, educators, government officials and average consumers. The program coordinator will primarily support networks within the University, supporting connections to University administrative bodies such as the Office of Research, Office of Academic Affairs, colleges and departments, other Discovery Theme staff, faculty, staff and students to accomplish the initiative's objectives particularly in research, teaching and outreach.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Agriculture or Food System related field; well-organized and able to work independently; excellent written and oral communication skills; print and/or web-based design skills; social media proficiency.
Experience and working knowledge of support units, operation and administrative systems at Ohio State (e.g., eRequest, PeopleSoft financials, ResearchIQ, TAS); Master’s degree in Administration or a food system related field.
Target Salary: $47,500.00 - $52,000.00 Annually
