The Office of Community Engagement and Outreach seeks a full-time Program Manager to provide a key support role in the implementation of the Imagine Tennessee Initiative. This is a two year limited duration appointment (LDA).
Duties and Responsibilities: This position will serve as a program manager for the new system-wide Imagine Tennessee Initiative. Designed to harness the research and scholarly activity of faculty and students for the benefit of Tennessee's citizens, curricular, co-curricular, and faculty-only projects will be solicited. The initiative will build on the Smart Communities Initiative that is located in the Provost's Office. The position will interact with a wide range of faculty, staff, and students at the campus/system level, community organizations, and stakeholders. Position does include some travel, nights and weekends.
Position duties include:
Develop and implement comprehensive community initiatives
Leverage interdisciplinary research and scholarship, community dialogue, human capacity, and innovation
Make initial contact with faculty, staff, and/or potential community partners to explore potential projects
Strategically manage a portfolio of projects that will lead to positive outcomes to discuss with the state legislature
Maintain relationships with local government and community partners
Oversee project solicitation process and the selection panel of projects which includes faculty, staff, and community members
Recruitment of faculty for projects
Track participation across multiple years
Annual assessment of program activities
Maintain website and promotional materials
Ongoing coordination with multiple departments, colleges, and programs across campus
Provide project summaries and have tangible output(s) and products at the end of the projects
General support for the Office of Community Engagement and Outreach programming, activities, and events
