Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Office of the Registrar in the Division of Student Affairs at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Program Coordinator I. This position coordinates the Learning Community activities including course schedules, registrations, and assessment in the Office of the Registrar; the special registration processes of the Office of the Registrar; the distance education course offerings and enrollment activities. In addition this position will process and coordinate all registrations in connection with high school students registering for courses through the Iowa Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act (PSEO). The Program Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining section records which govern various registration related deadlines and fee adjustment schedules, providing day-to-day auditing of tuition and fee assessment, and coordinating set-up and audits of special course and delivery fees. Additionally, this position will assist the Associate Registrar in Course Scheduling and Fees, assist with projects as needed, and supervise student employees in the Scheduling and Fees area.
The successful candidate will have effective written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment. Excellent active listening and organizational skills will also be needed in order to be successful in this position. Additionally, the candidate will have the ability to organize work effectively and within definite time limitations.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience that demonstrates ability to analyze and solve problems.
Experience providing quality customer service.
Experience interpreting complex policy and communicating complex policy to others.
Experience supporting academic programs, including problem-solving issues to improve efficiencies and support student success.
Database management experience in Access, MSQuery or other database platform.
