Position Title: Assistant/Associate/Professor, Applied Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York, anticipates the appointment of one or more faculty positions, effective August 2019, at the junior (tenure-track assistant professor) and senior (associate/full professor) levels. These positions are in support of the University’s new interdisciplinary Institute for Computational and Data Sciences.
Strong candidates working in computational and applied mathematics, including complex systems, applied probability and stochastic processes, will be considered. Applicants should have excellent research accomplishments and potential, a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences or a related field, and a strong commitment to teaching. For the junior position, post-doctoral experience is expected, although not absolutely required. Candidates for the senior position should have prior faculty experience and demonstrated ability to lead a research group and attract external funding. The normal teaching load for research-active faculty is 3 semester courses per academic year.
