This role is designed for a well-seasoned, experienced bookkeeper (5+ years of full-charge experience) who is comfortable acting as the Controller for our clients. This position will serve as the client's main point of contact and manage the workflow of bookkeeping staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review bookkeeping entries and payroll prepared by junior associates to ensure accuracy
Prepare month-end and year-end closings of books, including booking accrual entries
Maintain various schedules, including fixed assets, deferred revenue, loan amortization, etc
Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports, including financial projections
Prepare invoices and follow up on past due invoices
Manage the cash flow for clients and resolve any potential cash flow deficiencies (including assisting the client in obtaining lines of credit and term loans)
Onboard and offboard employees from payroll system
Resolve payroll tax notices
Manage 1099 reporting and W-9 collection
Prepare and file sales tax returns, property tax returns, etc
Ensure clients remain compliant with Federal and State regulations (e.g. business licenses, corporate registrations, payroll tax accounts, etc)
Help to manage and guide junior associate staff members
Maintain client relationships and serve as main point of contact with clients on a daily basis.
Work on projects as delegated by manager
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent bookkeeping certification, or relevant prior experience, required.
5+ years’ experience working as a full-charge bookkeeper with payroll experience required. (7+ years required if no degree or certification)
Prior experience with managing staff strongly recommended
Willingness to manage / guide / teach junior staff
Knowledge and proficiency with QuickBooks required.
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
Ability and desire to work with, guide and provide on-the-job training to junior associate staff members
Desire to learn and grow in your accounting career.
