This position will provide analytical support related to the devlopment of the University's multi-year financial plan, operating and capital budgets, and assessments of financial operations.
This position will require specific capabilities and experience in working with enterprise financial reporting systems, particularly Hyperion and PeopleSoft used by the University.
Of equal importance is the ability to build strong financial partners throughout campus while handling all related tasks and projects.
Supervise, monitor, and help construct the campus annual operating budget
Assist in the formulation of policies and guidelines for campus operating departments in developing their budgets and how to maintain them
Work on University-wide teams in developing, implementing, and training for budget systems and upgrades (Team members may include Directors, Assistant Directors, and individuals and UM System)
Monitor and track position funding and how much General Revenue Allocation (GRA) funds are associated with each position
Assign security for the PeopleSoft Budget System. Manage the Human Resourse Services Tree and PeopleSoft Financial Tree
Instruct and train department and division staff on budget processing and procedures in the budget system and related activity in the accounting and human resources system
Recommend and collaborate in the formulation of procedures and guidelines relating the campus budgets, as well as perform necessary analysis, develop, and distribute reports on the General Allocation Budget
Provide reports, information, recommendations, and advice to campus personnel on budget matters in the absence of the Director
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications A master's degree
A bachelor's degree in business administration or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
PeopleSoft and Hyperion Experience
