Administration of the study abroad programs at Missouri S&T including exchange programs and non-degree seeking fee-paying study abroad programs.
Administration of faculty-led study abroad programs in coordination with other campus offices.
Market study abroad opportunities to current and prospective students, the campus, and the community.
Recruit students to study abroad through resources such as one-on-one meetings, presentations, materials, events, and online software.
Administer the study abroad program from the student's first interest, through the application process, while abroad, and after the student returns.
Maintain the study abroad Terra Dotta website, study abroad web site, safety and risk management handbooks and website, and abroad materials.
Develop and maintain materials to promote study abroad including videos for outbound and inbound students.
Build and maintain relationships with partner universities to promote study abroad and recruit exchange students to come to Missouri S&T.
Plan and oversee annual study abroad fair.
Work with faculty and departments to develop and market study abroad programs
Be knowledgeable about study abroad opportunities available to Missouri S&T student so that students may toward programs that suit their needs/wants.
Maintain records for all study abroad and provide scheduled and ad-hoc reports as needed
Other duties as required
Orientation and Safety/Security:
Design pre-departure orientation program suitable to program experience.
Develop and disseminate information regarding safety and security to students, faculty and staff.
Develop and implement study abroad re-entry and evaluation program for returning students.
Stay abreast of regulations affecting students traveling abroad and inform campus accordingly.
Communicate emergency information to students who are traveling abroad (such as travel warnings or real or perceived threats).
Ensure that students, faculty and staff are knowledgeable of safety/security issues, have the appropriate/required insurance, and are registered with appropriate agencies abroad.
Facilitate risk management review process of student international travel requests.
Meet with students and facilitate discussion between student and institution(s).
Work with academic advisors and office of the registrar to ensure proper enrollment procedures ; facilitate of credit for participants.
Counsel students regarding study abroad issues including educational, financial, and personal concerns.
Remain in contact with and international institution during program activity.
Monitor exchange programs to ensure parity levels are appropriate; maintain study abroad data on all programs and participants.
Facilitate communication regarding the Global Minor program.
Travel (domestic and/or international):
Attend abroad advisory and international student meetings and serve on campus or community activities as appropriate.
Oversee processes specific to study abroad students, such as issues involving the office and billing, holds on accounts, international student health insurance issues .
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Experience living, studying working abroad;
Knowledge of one or more foreign language.
Experience with Terra Dotta Software strongly preferred.
Experience coordinating programs and events for study abroad programs strongly preferred.
