The Office of Academic Affairs, Campus Life Services (CLS) has an opportunity for a Student Engagement Program Specialist . Campus Life Services is committed to providing essential co-curricular and interdisciplinary support services that minimize hurdles for students by streamlining business processes to afford prompt and easy access to necessary administrative services, provide students with a campus-wide community in which they can excel in their program of study while building personal and professional relationships with their colleagues across professional disciplines, create a student-oriented environment that helps students realize their full intellectual and individual potential, and partner with the schools and programs to educate and develop students to be socially responsible professionals and citizens of the world.
The Student Engagement Program Specialist is responsible for the administration of student-facing services, programs, and events through management and execution of communication and marketing plans. May assist with program design, management, and implementation. Serves as a liaison between Campus Life Services and other departments on campus.

Manages and executes engaging communication and marketing plans for all student-facing services, programs, and events.
Leads other departments in collaborative marketing efforts for large-scale initiatives such as Welcome Month, Stressbusters, and I ♥ UMB Day.
Manages and develops web content for all Campus Life Services and Office of Academic Affairs websites.
Develops and applies graphic and brand standards for use in marketing and communications in compliance with university standards.
Leads content creation and strategy for social media to increase visibility, student engagement, and participation from the UMB community.
Manages and executes Campus Life Weekly with the University Student Government Association and other e-newsletters and email marketing campaigns.
Conceptualizes, designs and produces high-level marketing and collateral materials for distribution, including newsletters, brochures and flyers; coordinates this process from development through printing and distribution.
Coordinates the publication and production of reports representing content from multiple areas, including the Campus Life Services annual report and other division-wide publications. Interviews, recruits, trains, and supervises student employees and interns assisting with student engagement, marketing, and communication efforts.
Leads communication and web standards training within Campus Life Services for professional and student staff.
Recruits program participants and volunteers using the most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, including individual letters, brochures, and presentations at meetings.
Coordinates and executes communication, including logistics and timeline, to participants regarding workshops, meetings, and conferences.
Serves as a liaison with students, faculty, staff, campus departments and external/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field such as English, Writing, Journalism, Marketing, Publications Design, or Communications. Master's degree is preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years related experience.

Knowledge of issues pertaining to area of assignment.
Knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles.
Knowledge of organizational practices.
Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
Skill in organizing work of self and others.
Skill using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, & Illustrator).
Skill using Content Management Software System for web management.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of performance.
