The Residency Coordinator provides direction, leadershipand day-to-day management and continuity of the educational and departmentalactivities related to the Neurology accredited program. This position isresponsible for maintaining the accreditation of the assigned programs. Thisposition provides educational coordination between attending physicians,residents, medical students, and institutional and regulatory administrativeoffices; coordinate and administers human resource functions and participatesin budget review and financial processes; and act for and make decisions in theProgram Director's absence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures house staffcompliance with established policies and procedures.
Manages andcoordinates GME conducted accreditation site visits for program.
Maintains web basedGME accreditation data system and surveys for program, collecting andevaluating information from various sources throughout the campus.
Prepares and submitsreports to GME, American Board of Medical Specialties, American Academy of Specialties,American Association of Medical Colleges, AMA and other professionalorganizations as required.
Develops newprocedures in response to new or revised policies issued by governing agenciesor program director based upon independent judgment.
Manages the operationsof the fellowship programs to include budgeting, auditing, procurement,marketing, resident benefits, compliance, and accreditation activities.
Documents andcredentials all graduate medical education training conducted within thedepartment including initiation and writing credentialing documents as requiredby housestaff and completion of credentialing forms for signature byappropriate medical staff; maintenance of housestaff personnel records,including confidential evaluation and counseling records.
Plans, organizes andschedules new house staff orientation.
Implements and manages New Innovations Residency ManagementSuite database modules to analyze outcome data and improve program efficiency.
Performs other duties as required.
