The Office of the Provost is seeking applications for an Executive Assistant to the Provost. The primary purpose of this position is to provide independent, administrative support to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and (to a lesser extent) to the Vice Provost and Associate Provosts.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Assist the Provost with highly confidential correspondence, reports and memorandums on personnel issues with a high level of confidence (including promotion and tenure issues).
Manage the Provost's complex schedule.
Manage the Provost's electronic correspondence (email) as well as screening and processing all incoming correspondence, and coordinating and formatting various complex documents intended for presentations and external dissemination.
Act as a central source of information for WVU employees, state officials, legislators, governing board members, Higher Education Policy Commission staff, media personnel, and the general public on programs, policies, and procedures of the Office of the Provost.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Three (3) years of directly related and progressively responsible or expansive university work experience which must include:
Support of an executive level position
Confidential office protocol
Word processing, editing, and composing correspondence
Knowledge of the University structure, policies and procedures is preferred
