Develop, implement and perform oversight of comprehensive campus-wide emergency preparedness and response plans and programs to improve the campus' ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, effectively manage incidents and systematically restore campus to full operation (business continuity). Coordinate training and drill activities for a variety of responders and response levels including, but not limited to, classroom training, table top drills, functional exercises and full scale exercises. Facilitate the Emergency Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) and related subcommittee meetings.The incumbent attends annual meetings co-hosted by UCOP to assist and represent UC Irvine in developing UC Systemwide Emergency Management policies and procedures.The incumbent reports to the Assistant Chief of Police and will represent the UCI Police Department to the following, as directed by the Assistant Chief of Police - Chancellor's Cabinet, Deans, Assistant Deans Chairs, Directors, Department Heads, Faculty and Staff and the Office of the President. Provides management analysis on complex issues and generates reports for the Police management team. Provides leadership and direction to department managers and supervisors, and assists in establishing and developing department and organization Emergency Management objectives.Reviews state and federal proposed legislation and provides recommendations. Provides weekly briefings on emergency and disaster preparedness related topics at staff meetings.Develops and maintains working relationships with private, military, local, state and federal officials in order to keep up-to-date on current issues facing the emergency management community.
