Instructor (Regular Non-Tenure Track) Multimedia Journalism Department of Mass Media
Teach undergraduate courses in multimedia journalism and the department’s mass communication core
Advise and mentor students
Maintain a schedule of office hours
Serve on department, college, and university committees
Master’s Degree (Degree completed by August 2019) in Mass Communications or closely related discipline (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university.)
Demonstrated ability to teach assigned courses in the multimedia journalism option including Media Elements, Sound for Media, Visuals for Media, and Design for Media
Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and teaching with Adobe Creative Suite
Demonstrated ability to teach assigned courses in the department’s mass communication core such as Mass Media & Society, Mass Communication Theory and Research, Diversity in Media, and/or History and Philosophy of American Mass Media
Experience teaching at the college/university level as a graduate assistant, instructor, or above
Willingness and demonstrated ability to help with recruitment and retention of students
Willingness and demonstrated ability to teach both in face-to-face and online modes
Demonstrated commitment to the teacher/scholar model
Experience in the practicing profession of multimedia journalism
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
Demonstrated commitment to a diverse work environment, including working with multi-cultural populations and an understanding of, and sensitivity to, issues affecting women and minorities

It is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) and has earned Certification in Education in Public Relations (CEPR) within the public relations option.
