Posting Summary: The UVA Workday Team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and give direction to the testing and governance cycles. This includes adopting agile approaches to managing the testing project plan for bi-annual Workday update rollouts in addition to prioritizing the existing change control backlog from Ufirst project and other changes that will surface post-deployment. The principal purpose of this role is to develop a robust program to ensure a high degree of coordination and organization across the UVA Workday Team.
A Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years' experience in complex, large-scale project management preferably involving system implementation or quality assurance and testing is required. Professional project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or other Agile methodologies (SCRUM, SAFe) is essential.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to: 1.Create and execute complex system test plans, including end-to-end testing with integrations and third party vendors. 2.Develop appropriate charts, graphs and visualizations and explain complex concepts to lay audiences. 3.Build consensus and complex problem-solving, analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously. 4.Plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities. 5.Work in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint are required.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Master's degree and seven years or more experience. Also preferred is a strong background in contemporary lean practices; experience with Workday or cloud-based enterprise software; and proficiency with Microsoft products (Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Previous experience in IT project management, software development and testing, quality assurance project management and experience with automated system testing tools is also preferred.
