The VA New England Healthcare System (VISN) has six vacancies for Health System Six Sigma Specialist in the following locations Bedford, MA; Brockton, MA; West Haven, CT; Augusta, ME; Northampton, MA; Providence, RI.
The Health System/Six Sigma Specialist will provide leadership and direction for innovative system improvement methods that are driven by and closely linked to Veteran Healthcare Administration/ VA New England Healthcare System (VISN) strategic goals. You will work in partnership with VISN and Medical Center Senior Leaders to create, plan, promote, and implement initiatives and interventions that are aligned with organizational goals and to provide change management and improvement support for the organizational transformation of a large, geographically diverse public health care system.
You will be a key impact by:
Serving as a coach of Network or Facility Director chartered improvement teams
Leading and coordinating quality and Lean Six Sigma efforts throughout VISN Medical Centers to align organizational strategy and operations at all levels of the organization
Conducting Optimization Studies to address complex problems in healthcare quality, safety, effectiveness and efficiency
Leading complex and far-reaching system improvement initiatives using systems redesign and improvement principles
Using independent judgment and resourceful solutions to respond to time sensitive complex organizational challenges in an integrated health care delivery environment.
Qualification requirements: Must have one (1) full year of specialized experience equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Health System Specialist - Lean Six Sigma position. Specialized experience is progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative, clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: (1) Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; (2) Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and (3) Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and procurement. Possessing a Six Sigma Black Belt level certification is a desirable factor that will place you among our best qualified applicant pool.
