The Carideo Group, Inc., a Minneapolis, Minnesota-based investor relations and corporate services firm, is seeking a New York or New Jersey-based (Boston okay, too) individual to serve as an inspector of election at annual and special elections of publicly traded companies.
Inspectors of Election must have a basic understanding of public company corporate governance, particularly the proxy solicitation process. They are required to attend annual and special (primarily M&A transactions) meetings, some of them out of town, and to prepare a number of forms necessary to certify the election results. The vast majority of these meetings take place between mid-April and late June, so a key requirement of the job is the inspector's availability during this period.
The goal for inspectors on our team is the creation of a reliable "book of business" that occurs year-in and year-out, resulting in a steady stream of meaningful supplemental income. The ideal candidate for the job is someone with his or her own consulting business or other professional situation (semi-retired is okay) that will allow them the freedom to attend these meetings. It's important to note that candidates needn't have any prior experience in this process; we will train you. PLEASE read the requirements, however, because we're looking for some specific language skills for this position.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Essential: For this position, we are looking for someone fluent in written and spoken Spanish.
Definite: Strong communication and "people skills." We want someone who can communicate verbally and in writing.
Preferred: A high level of familiarity with Microsoft-based technology, including spreadsheet skills.
Additional Salary Information: Additional Salary Information: Inspectors are paid for each meeting he or she inspects, plus expenses. Over time, the number of meetings each year is expected to increase.
