The Director of International Services serves as DSO, RO and manages the office of International Service and its staff. Ensures university compliance with all immigration regulations relevant to campus stakeholders. Directs strategy and operations for IS. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:
60% - Essential - Oversight for all Immigration Services: Establishes and/or maintains policies and procedures to ensure consistency of operations and compliance with international, federal, state and university government regulations and legal requirements. Oversees staff responsible for the student and scholar visa and immigration requirements and ensures staff are continuously trained to advise international students, scholars, faculty, staff and their dependents in F-1, J-1 and H-1B status on immigration and employment regulations; provide guidance for employees applying for PERM through approved attorney service; serves as a Designated School Official (DSO) and a Responsible Officer (RO). Directs the SEVIS (Students and Exchange Visitor Information System) reporting compliance and SEVIS information sessions. (US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required to serve as DSO/RO). 25% - Essential - Office Management and Process Enhancement: Oversees and initiates appropriate personnel management activities such as hiring, training and evaluation of staff specific to OIS. Supervises 5 full-time professional staff with responsibilities for immigration compliance, budget management, as well as, part-time student employees/interns. Directs activities of IS to ensure optimum performance of the unit: works closely and in conjunction with administration, faculty and staff to ensure IS is an information, referral and resource asset for the university. Resolves problems and issues affecting the international student and scholar process and assists in directing measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the office. Represents IS and OGE on various department/college and university committees.
15% - Essential - Campus Internationalization Programming and Services: Researches, develops and advocates for programs to retain international students and scholars, enhance their integration into the Clemson community, cultivate a campus culture and climate that raises global awareness, and supports diversity. Requires skillful collaboration with stakeholders across campus administration and colleges. Identifies best practices and communicates/implements these practices to streamline the international student and scholar pre- enrollment, employment and immigration processes. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manages Work of Others - Manages work of others including hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff. Plans organizational structure and job content.
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree - Int'l Ed, Public Admin or related field,exp. in Banner and Sunapsis, int't travel, employment, Work Exp 5+ years WORK SCHEDULE:
