As the campus chief academic officer and chief operations officer, the Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor (CP/EVC) is responsible for providing vision and guidance to the senior leadership team as they work to fulfill our campus mission and attain our strategic goals. The CP/EVC works closely with the Chancellor and is the administration's primary liaison with the Academic Senate.
The CP/EVC's priorities include engaging faculty in the creation of a vibrant academic and research vision, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit to the creation of new sources of revenue, providing focused leadership to support student academic needs, and growing the commitment to serving first-generation college students and a diverse student population. The CP/EVC organization is dynamic, with priorities and issues that evolve and change daily. The team is committed to collaboration, in the moment re-prioritization and creating a collegial, optimistic and forward-facing environment.
UC Santa Cruz creates and maintains information (both paper and electronic) while managing the activities that are central to University of California's mission of teaching, research, and public service. The University of California Records Management Program governs the ownership, roles and responsibilities, protection, use, retention and disposal of university business records. In support of these activities, the Records and Information Management office provides guidance, outreach, and training to assist those who manage the life cycle of university business records to ensure the secure and compliant destruction of records, compliance with information security and privacy policies, preservation of records containing enduring historical value, and consultation on business information system design.
Under the general direction of the Campus Records Manager and as a member of the Records and Information Management team, the incumbent performs complex duties that require critical analysis and frequent independent application of records management principles and procedures in processing confidential and sensitive university records directed to the Chancellor, Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, and members of their staff.
This position requires passing a pre-employment criminal history background check. Selected candidates cannot begin work until passing their background check. Please note: Time required to complete this process may vary and can be lengthy.
Related professional level administrative/analytical experience sufficient to utilize resources effectively to achieve maximum benefit for the organization.
Strong written and verbal skills to communicate effectively with staff, faculty, alumni / donors, students and external constituencies.
Ability to learn records management and other business systems and concepts, both manually and computerized, quickly and accurately.
Strong research and analytical ability to perform a wide variety of functions. Ability to gather, reduce, extrapolate and analyze information.
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
