Your job You will be part of a team of experts within the Operational Risk domain: the PERDARR Independent Validation Unit. The PERDARR principles (issued by the Basel Committee) are guidelines for governance and IT infrastructure, risk data aggregation capabilities and risk reporting practices. Adherence to the principles and structural improvements in the quality of finance and risk data aggregation and reporting is commissioned by the Executive Committee. The primary purpose of the Independent Validation Unit is to ensure that the Bank's risk data aggregation and reporting processes are functioning as intended and are appropriate for the Bank's risk profile. Activities of the Unit are a part of ABN AMRO's goal of being "in control", worldwide. This means, you will be in contact with both Head Office departments and international teams. Main activity of the team is ensuring ongoing validation of ABN AMRO's key risk reports and the surrounding governance processes, on multiple organizational levels and for all main risk types - credit risk, market risk, liquidity risk, interest rate risk and operational risk. In addition, you will cooperate with operational risk teams to ensure that recommended controls are implemented in business as usual practice. You will interact with a broad range of internal stakeholders as well as with the external regulator on a frequent basis.
Your working environment The PERDARR Independent Validation Unit is a new team, placed within the Operational Risk Management team which consists of approximately 50 operational risk managers. The past years the ORM department has built and implemented a robust risk and control framework conform the Advanced Measurement Approach. Our next step? The transfer from 'instrument management' to 'true risk management'. In this way we can discuss the risks that truly matter. Higher education degree (HBO / WO) in the area of Business, IT or Finance
At least 3 years' experience in IT/operational risk, audit, data quality assurance or in a comparable relevant field
Knowledge of data aggregation, data lineage and data reporting processes
Experience in interacting with international, senior & external stakeholders
Analytical skills with an agile mindset
Fluent English, written and spoken
