The position may have the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor.QualificationsSuccessful candidates will be outstanding and experienced professionals ready to lead our video/broadcast efforts on our DC campus. Were looking for a candidate to inspire and educate the next generation of video journalists. This position requires teaching both graduate and undergraduate students. Experience in a university classroom is strongly preferred. Experience in government or political reporting on the state or federal level is a plus.� Candidates must have multiplatform experience and technical skills in shooting, writing, editing and producing journalism of high impact, as well as critical thinking and thought leadership experience. This means he or she is proficient with the tools of video journalism, but more importantly is able to use them and teach students how to use them to create effective journalism. Medills Washington program simulates a professional newsroom and operates four days a week. Your best students will compete for journalisms highest awards. National or international travel with students is a possibility. Applicants should have a strong portfolio of work to demonstrate their mastery. Based in DC this opportunity allows for continued professional involvement and development in the industry. Faculty rank and track (tenure or non-tenure) are open. Both professionals and academics can earn tenure at Medill; criteria for promotion and tenure are available from the school. An advanced degree is preferred, but not required.
