Reports to the Regional Associate Director/Supervisor and is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of application for financial assistance. This involves the strict application of all federal, state, and institutional regulations, and policies and procedures used to implement them. This employee also reviews and verifies documents and maintains appropriate supporting documentation. Upon finding discrepancies in any information received, the incumbent initiates follow-up to ensure accurate awarding and clear audit trail.
Responsible for territory management and travel recruitment of special populations, specifically the Education Opportunity Fund (EOF) program and military/veteran students, this position will review and process all admissions applications for EOF eligible students and will work to streamline the military/veteran review process. This employee will provide administrative support for enrollment efforts in regards to the EOF program. They will conduct on-and-off-campus presentations and information sessions, assist and support the office with various recruitment and enrollment initiatives, including daily visits and on-campus events, assist and guide prospective students, parents/families, and guidance counselors/advisors through the admissions and enrollment process to Rutgers-Camden. The candidate hired will maintain a proactive, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service presence.
This position will serve as the Financial Aid liaison to the Office of Graduate and Undergraduate Admissions to train all recruiting officers on key financial aid policies and procedures and key financial aid database (FAMS) screens. Additionally, the position will serve as the Admissions liaison for the Rutgers-Camden EOF Office and the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs.
The incumbent advises students/parents on matters such as proper completion of application forms, answers questions and concerns, budget planning, debt management, as well as other complexities of the financial aid process. S/he oversees the duties of support staff and federal work-study employees and provides training and leadership in accomplishing staff/office goals.
S/he provides assistance to support staff in answering student questions and in disseminating accurate information about the financial aid process in general, or student cases in particular.
The incumbent represents the department at various functions such as high school nights, orientation, Discover Rutgers Day, and other campus or University functions
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate's degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred and three years of experience in Financial Aid administration. Must have a thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required and familiarity with MS Office and other applicable software programs and operating systems. Must possess sophisticated interpersonal skills necessary for frequent interaction with a number of University departments and familiarity with complex organizational behavior and processes in meeting departmental goals. Requires the ability and willingness to work occasional nights and/or weekends.
Responsible for implementing all aspects of the delivery of aid on the Camden campus to ensure that applications are processed in a timely manner and credited to students' accounts for payment of term bills or refund disbursal. This position will have significant responsibility in ensuring that departmental goals and objectives are met. A great deal of latitude and discretion will be provided to this individual concerning day-to-day processing and client services as it will be assumed that the incumbent will be able to address and resolve problems with limited direction.
Familiarity with the Financial Aid Management System (FAMS), ImageNow, and University student accounting systems. Working knowledge and full understanding of the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS); FAA Access to CPS Online; Common Origination and Disbursement (COD); EDExpress; HESAA E-Administrator, Rutgers VA Certification; ELMNet, and other private loan processing systems.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
