Tuscany Motor Company, a division of FOX, specializing in the premium aftermarket powered vehicle performance industry in Elkhart, IN (46514) has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer.
The Manufacturing Engineer plays a fundamental, hands on role in planning and coordination of manufacturing processes in our Manufacturing Plant. Develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Develops, evaluates, and enhances machining and final processing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, material, machining processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities and quality control standards.
Works with outside process vendors (such as anodizes, zinc platers, heat treaters, powder coaters, etc.) to determine product specifications and assure each vendor has the capability to meet our requirements according to product specifications, capacity and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient machining and final processing methods.
Establishes methods to benchmark current machining processes. Able to quantify results once improvements are implemented
Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding machining capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate machining processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
Evaluates machining processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of design, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming machining processes and documenting process.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
Completes development projects by training and guiding operators and technicians to assure success on the shop floor.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
BS degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
5 years’ experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
Experience in dealing with complexity.
Leadership in assisting with change in process as required
Exposure to ERP and its requirements.
Strong skills with CNC Machining, Tooling and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information.
