Life Pacific College seeks dynamic candidates to become the founding Dean of the College of Theology & Ministry as the College completes its transition to Life Pacific University in July 2019. Founded in 1923, Life Pacific is the historic Bible College of the Foursquare Church, with a rich history in raising up leaders for the Church, the workplace, and the world. The College desires a Dean of the College of Theology & Ministry (DCTM) who shares its vision for high quality, biblically-faithful, Pentecostal/charismatic education and ministry. The start date for the position is July 1, 2019.
The Dean of the College of Theology & Ministry (DCTM) will be responsible for leading and advancing the academic (traditional and non-traditional) functions of the College of Theology & Ministry (CTM). The DCTM must possess a deep commitment to biblical integration in higher education, the values and doctrines of the Foursquare Church, participatory governance, academic freedom and responsibility, and social justice in the Christian context. This role requires creatively leading and managing innovation in the development, implementation, and evaluation of both traditional and non-traditional curricular offerings in the College of Theology & Ministry (CTM). The DCTM facilitates the work and coordination of the programs and departments in the CTM, including training, budget oversight, interdepartmental/intradepartmental communication, supervision of managers and faculty, and personnel development. At least initially, the DCTM will direct the MA in Biblical Studies & Theology. The position holds academic faculty status and rank. The DCTM reports to the Provost.
Essential Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Serving on Provost’s Council and as an ex-officio member of all faculty committees in the CTM, and in on other campus committees as needed.
Leading all the departments and faculty within the CTM.
Engaging in long- and short- range institutional and budgetary planning, particularly as it relates to the CTM.
Assisting in the completion of all government and accreditation reports, particularly as they relate to the CTM.
Informing the Provost and the Provost’s Council regarding faculty and department concerns and recommendations.
Representing the University at professional meetings and with the Foursquare church as related to the responsibilities of the office.
Overseeing accreditation issues (including current and future programmatic accreditation), academic policy, faculty morale, course and curriculum preparation, faculty hiring, development, workload, faculty and educational effectiveness, course scheduling, and other academic areas for the CTM.
Directing the MA in Biblical Studies & Theology.
Carrying out or supervising other projects as directed by the Provost.
Life Pacific is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and Universities Commission (WSCUC) and the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).

Minimum requirements for the position include:
Terminal degree in an appropriate discipline.
At least 5 years’ experience in higher education with evidence of high-level administrative ability.
Advanced leadership skills—ability to supervise, delegate, and track projects to completion while handling interruptions, etc.
Excellent interpersonal and interviewing skills.
Demonstrated competency in the classroom.
Computer knowledge/skills: working knowledge of Windows-based computers; quick learner; desirable but not mandatory to know Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher.
Excellent communication and writing ability.
Experienced in budget development, monitoring, and maintenance.
A self-starter, personable, detail-oriented, and goal-oriented.
Knowledgeable and experienced in education and educational assessment practices.
Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and the general constituency of Life Pacific.
Demonstrated culturally competent communication skills.
Demonstrated commitment to working with and engaging diverse students and colleagues.
Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with Life Pacific’s Pentecostal/Charismatic and Wesleyan-Arminian stance (must be able to sign Life Pacific’s Statement of Faith and align with its position on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity).
Must be licensed in the Foursquare Church or willing/eligible to undergo licensing in Foursquare upon hire.
