This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Minority Health (OMH).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, you will serve as the Deputy Director in the Office of Minority Health. As Deputy to the Director, you will share full responsibility for oversight and management of the Office of Minority Health operations.
•Serve in a capacity sharing the responsibility of overseeing, leading and managing the operations of the office including, providing leadership and direction to address HHS and CMS Strategic Plan goals and objectives.
•Oversee ongoing program administration work on behalf of the Direcor including contracts, budget schedules, risk and other relevant priorities.
•Advise on policy issues and recommendations on minority health care through the nation.
•Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling the resources required to assure the timely, accurate, and cost-effective accomplishment of the Office functional responsibilities.
•Identify economic and demographic disparities in the outcome of health care, particularly as they relate to minority and ethnic populations, and develop and identify policy to address these disparities.
In order to qualify, you must demonstrate in your resume, at least, 52 weeks (1-year) of specialized experience in the following areas:
(1) Serving as an expert (i.e., written publications, serving on panels, committees, or boards) on improving minority health and eliminating health disparities within Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace or other national/state/regional health care programs.
(2) Developing procedures, policies, and data analyses related to improving outcomes for vulnerable populations and reducing health care disparities; AND
(3) Monitoring program operations to include: setting objectives, planning work, managing projects and allocating resources (staff, budget, etc.)
