As Associate Medical Director for Accountable Health Partners, you will work with AHP's Director of Performance Optimization and the Optimization team to develop and implement strategies to optimize AHP's performance on quality, access, and cost. You will also partner with the AHP Executive Medical Director to represent AHP internally and externally on medical director activities.
Specific expectations will include:
Playing an integral role in the design and implementation of AHP's efforts to integrate behavioral health into pediatric practice.
Working with the Senior Director of Care Management to monitor and expand AHP's care management activities and structure.
Managing the development of the pediatric triple aim report.
Work with AHP's Director of Performance Optimization and other medical directors to develop and implement a process to identify performance opportunities.
Leading select AHP Health Improvement and Utilization projects.
Provide ongoing leadership and facilitation of AHP's pediatric primary care advisory committee and pediatric workgroup for innovation.
Taking part in provider visits to provide data and education in order to effect performance improvement.
Leading AHP's efforts in NYS First Thousand Days initiative.
Leading AHP's efforts in lead point-of-care testing initiative
Leading AHP's efforts in LARC insertion initiative
Participating in GCH Asthma Quality Improvement Initiative
Leading AHP's involvement in MVP GROW Initiative pilot.
Behavioral and Population Health
For your Departmental role, you will initially focus primarily on leading a behavioral health initiative, since there is such a compelling need for help in this area and it is so complex. You will also serve as a departmental liaison to the community child health providers. We anticipate this work will align with your role at AHP.
Your initial work will involve:
Conducting an assessment regarding behavioral health needs and services available in the Department and throughout the community.
Working with an interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive pediatric behavioral health initiative, to help ensure access to needed services across the Department and in the region.
Serving as a liaison and ensuring optimal communications and partnerships with community providers in the region and to best meet the needs of children.
All faculty are expected to maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars. Additionally, faculty may take a role in the development of divisional or departmental policies, procedures and standards. On occasion, faculty may be assigned to divisional, departmental, or faculty committees. Participation in local or regional clinical affairs through membership in clinical societies or specialty governing boards is encouraged.
Minimum Education Requirements - list level of education and field(s) acceptable:
MD, DO or equivalent and current active license issued by the State of New York.
