The Minneapolis VA Health Care System (VAHCS) seeks academic general internists with health services research expertise to join the section of General Internal Medicine and the internationally recognized Center for Care Delivery and Outcomes Research (CCDOR). Successful candidates will dedicate 75% effort to research activities and 25% effort to inpatient or outpatient clinical effort.
Essential qualifications include excellent interpersonal communication, creative problem-solving skills, ability to work with multidisciplinary teams, and demonstrated expertise in comparative effectiveness, implementation, or health services research. Candidates should have advanced methodological training, such as that provided by a general internal medicine or health services research fellowship and should be BC/BE in Internal Medicine. This position offers an academic appointment at the University of Minnesota, VA competitive salary, performance pay and excellent benefits package.

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
