Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a FGP Revenue Cycle Manager.
In this role, the successful candidate Reporting to Director of Professional Billing, the Manager of Professional Billing Operations will have responsibility for directing the Faculty Group Practice (FGP) billing staff, functions and revenue cycle performance for the Department of Otolaryngology. The Manager will work closely with the practice staff, Central Billing Office leadership and vendors to coordinate the overall revenue functions maximize cash flow while improving patient, physician and other customer relations.
Performs other duties as assigned
Provide, oversee, and/or coordinate the provision of training for new and existing staff on applicable operating policies, protocols, systems and procedures, standards, and techniques
Ensure that the activities of the professional billing teams are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall Central Billing Office protocol, and are in compliance with Federal, State, and payer regulations, guidelines, and requirements
Assist with the development of strategic plans and goals for continued improvement and service leverage acting as key leader to implement plans
Assist with the ongoing management of systems
Direct and review analyses, reporting, key performance indicators, and operational metrics
Build relationships with, and maintain contact, with practices to obtain and analyze additional information to improve billings
Manage and review daily A/R, operational and production reports
Create action plans/corrective action plans as needed
Develop, implement and ensure compliance with billing policies and procedures
Work with the credentialing and managed care teams to resolve A/R issues
Work with the Director to carry out supervisory responsibilities including managing staff performance, work allocation, Quality Assurance, salary planning, training, development, hiring and placement
Serve as operational liaison with billing vendors and monitor their metrics, work queues, and processes
Manage all facets of professional billing revenue cycle processes including coding, charge capture/charge review, accounts receivable follow up, customer service follow up and reimbursement management
Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field required. Requires six (6) to eight (8) years in a billing office or healthcare setting with prior experience of healthcare finance, medical reimbursement and managed care contracts. Three (3) to five (5) years managerial experience in a Professional Billing Office. Thorough knowledge of billing requirements/regulations of the major third party carriers.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters in Business Administration or Health Care Administration preferred. Experience with surgical billing, coding, and EPIC preferred.
